Fire Forces Evacuation of Millcreek Apartment Building; No Injuries Reported
Millcreek, Utah – A fire broke out in a second-story window of a three-story apartment building on Tuesday evening, February 10, 2026, leading to the evacuation of residents and the displacement of six units. The incident occurred at 4434 South Lemans Drive in Millcreek, Utah, an area served by the Unified Fire Authority (UFA).
According to UFA spokesperson Courtney Samuel, emergency services received the initial call reporting flames at approximately 5:30 p.m. A separate report from Murray City Fire, which may have assisted or misattributed the location due to proximity, noted the fire report at 5:37 p.m. Upon arrival, fire crews observed smoke emanating from a second-story window and heavy black smoke from the affected apartment. Crews quickly initiated an interior fire attack and conducted a search of the building.
The fire was brought under control by 6:00 p.m., approximately 30 minutes after the initial response. No injuries were reported among residents or firefighters. However, the blaze displaced residents from six units in the building. Incident command requested a fire investigator and a building inspector to assess the scene.
Resident Bailey Glass commented on the rapid response, stating that crews “got it contained pretty quick.” The cause of the fire remains under investigation as of 6:00 p.m. on the day of the incident, with no details released regarding potential origins or damage estimates.
The apartment building at 4434 South Lemans Drive is a three-story residential structure in Millcreek, an unincorporated area of Salt Lake County. No specific name for the complex was identified in reports, though nearby properties on Lemans Drive include the Holladay on Ninth apartments at 4418 S Lemans Drive, which offer one- and two-bedroom units with features like walk-in closets, washer/dryer connections, and covered parking. The area is at the crossroads of Holladay, Millcreek, and Salt Lake City, with addresses sometimes listed under Salt Lake City ZIP code 84124.
This incident is unrelated to previous fires in Millcreek, such as the July 2025 blaze at Willow Glen Apartments, which destroyed multiple buildings and displaced dozens. Authorities have not indicated any connection or pattern.
Updates will be provided as the investigation progresses. Residents affected by the displacement are encouraged to contact local resources for assistance.
